GAZA CITY — At least 30 Palestinians were killed and 14 others remain missing following Israeli airstrikes on Saturday targeting Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, and Khan Younis.

A medical source said that 11 Palestinians were killed and others injured in an airstrike on a home in the Shujaiya neighborhood of eastern Gaza City.

In Deir al-Balah, three Palestinians were killed and others injured when an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle, medics reported.

Palestinian Civil Defense teams retrieved the bodies of six victims after an Israeli strike hit a civilian vehicle in the eastern Satar area of Khan Younis.

In western Gaza City, an airstrike on the Shubaki family’s home killed three people: a man, his pregnant wife, and their unborn child.

Medics confirmed the death of a Palestinian man in the Intelligence Towers area in northwestern Gaza City following another airstrike.

Rescue teams managed to extract two injured individuals from the rubble of a home belonging to the Ghoula family in the Shujaiya neighborhood, but 11 others remain trapped and are presumed dead.

In Khan Younis, an airstrike targeting the Sharif and Mujayda families’ home in the Mawasi area killed three people, including a child, and injured 10 others.

Separately, two Palestinians were killed in Rafah’s northern district, while a man succumbed to injuries from an earlier bombing in Khan Younis.

Nine others sustained injuries in a strike on a home in Mawasi, Khan Younis, medics reported.

Israeli forces also shelled the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza and continued demolishing civilian structures in Beit Hanoun and the Jabalia refugee camp. These attacks on protected civilian facilities, including hospitals, mosques, churches, and schools, have been flagged as potential war crimes.

Since October 2023, the Israeli army’s ongoing war on Gaza has resulted in the deaths of more than 45,700 people, the majority women and children, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire.

In November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its military campaign in Gaza. — Agencies
