Trump urges Elon Musk to be ‘more aggressive’ in government efficiency efforts

February 22, 2025

WASHINGTON — US President Donald Trump on Saturday called on billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk to take a more assertive approach in his role within the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an initiative aimed at reducing federal spending.

"ELON IS DOING A GREAT JOB, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM GET MORE AGGRESSIVE," Trump wrote on Truth Social, signaling his desire for a stronger push in cutting government expenditures.

He further emphasized the urgency of the initiative, stating that the United States needs to be "saved" and that the ultimate goal is to "MAKE (it) GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE."

Musk, a staunch Trump supporter and influential business leader, has played a central role in the administration's efforts to streamline government operations and curb excessive spending. His involvement in DOGE aligns with broader fiscal policies aimed at reducing inefficiencies and cutting federal costs. — Agencies
