RIYADH — Al-Hilal ended their three-match winless streak in style, thrashing Al-Kholood 5-1 in the Saudi Pro League on Tuesday.
Led by standout performances from Malcom and Salem Al-Dawsari, the Riyadh giants reaffirmed their title ambitions.
Malcom wasted no time, heading in the opener just three minutes into the match. A minute later, Al-Dawsari doubled the lead with a clinical finish off a rebound, putting Al-Hilal in firm control early on.
The Brazilian winger struck again in the 20th minute, firing a precise shot into the near post to make it 3-0.
Marcos Leonardo added to the rout with a powerful header in the 28th minute, extending Al-Hilal’s dominance.
Al-Dawsari wrapped up the scoring spree in the 55th minute with a close-range strike, sealing a much-needed victory for the Blue Waves.
Al-Kholood found a consolation goal in the 65th minute when Abdulrahman Al-Safari capitalized on a defensive lapse, but it was too little, too late.
With the win, Al-Hilal moves up to 51 points, keeping their title hopes alive. Meanwhile, Al-Kholood remains in 11th place with 25 points as they look to bounce back in the next round.
