Interior minister visits Grand Mosque operations center

MAKKAH —
Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif visited the Grand Mosque Security Operations Center on Friday to review ongoing security efforts during the Umrah season in Ramadan.

During the visit, Prince Abdulaziz was briefed by Director of Public Security Lt. Gen. Mohammed Al-Bassami on the outcomes of pre-planned security measures implemented to serve the growing number of pilgrims and worshippers.

The minister also observed the latest technologies used in crowd management, including advanced data analysis systems powered by artificial intelligence. These tools have enhanced the smooth and safe movement of pilgrims entering and exiting the Grand Mosque.

Prince Abdulaziz conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to the security forces participating in the Umrah mission.

He praised their dedication and professionalism, and urged continued excellence in safeguarding the safety and comfort of pilgrims.
