MAKKAH — The Makkah Mayoralty has approved 3,149 official housing permits for the Hajj season of 2025. These permits encompass 428,289 residential rooms spreading over a total area of 7,635,086 square meters, with a capacity to accommodate at least 1,867,215 pilgrims.
This is part of the mayoralty's key initiative reflecting its commitment to pilgrims' welfare, ensuring a safe and comfortable residential environment through adherence to all necessary technical and regulatory standards. This demonstrates the mayoralty's efforts to optimize space and ensure high-quality and safe residential services.
Aligned with its core mission, the mayoralty affirmed that this step guarantees the highest levels of preparedness in pilgrim housing. The mayoralty's strict regulatory requirements include verifying building permits and approved architectural plans, reviewing safety reports, emergency stairs, and electrical generators, as well as ensuring maintenance agreements and staff safety training. This framework ensures efficient operations and improves the overall quality of life and services within the Hajj environment.
