NEW YORK — The United Nations General Assembly has elected Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Ambassador Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Wasel as one of the vice presidents of the General Assembly’s 80th session, representing the Asian Group.
Al-Wasel is regarded as one of the most distinguished Saudi diplomats, with an extensive professional track record in representing Saudi Arabia at numerous regional and international forums. Through his various positions, he continues to contribute to boosting the Kingdom’s presence in international organizations.
This appointment reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing its active engagement within the UN ecosystem and supporting its efforts to address global challenges and achieve sustainable development in line with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030.
