SFDA warns of possible glass fragments in Arla Protein Pudding products
RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has warned consumers about the possible presence of small glass fragments in several Arla Protein Pudding products.
The warning covers four flavors of the Danish company’s protein pudding products: chocolate, hazelnut latte, salted caramel and crème brûlée, sold in 6 × 200-gram packs.
According to the authority, the precautionary recall followed a voluntary notification from Arla regarding the possible presence of small glass fragments in certain batches of its products worldwide. However, the SFDA confirmed that no reports concerning the affected products have been recorded in Saudi Arabia to date.
The affected batch numbers are ES26257001, ES26282001, ES26284001, ES26284002, ES26284003, ES26247001, ES26274001, ES26276001, ES26276002, ES26267001 and ES26273001.
The authority urged consumers to avoid consuming the recalled products and dispose of them immediately. It also advised anyone experiencing throat or abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting after consuming the affected products to seek medical attention.
The SFDA said it has coordinated with the manufacturer to take the necessary measures to remove the affected products from the market and urgently monitor the recall process.
The authority explained that voluntary recalls are a globally recognized food safety practice carried out by food establishments under regulatory supervision to protect consumers.
However, it emphasized that such recalls do not exempt food establishments from legal responsibility for any harm resulting from their products under applicable laws and regulations.
The SFDA reiterated its commitment to monitoring food safety and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, urging the public to report food-related violations through its unified contact center at 19999.
