RIYADH — The National Center for Measurement and Calibration at the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has received expanded accreditation from the Saudi Accreditation Center for its proficiency testing programs, bringing the total to 65 programs covering 122 technical fields.

The programs enable measurement and calibration laboratories to assess their technical performance, verify the accuracy of their results, and meet international accreditation requirements. They also strengthen national laboratory capabilities and support Saudi Arabia’s performance in the
Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable Development (QI4SD) Index, particularly in laboratory accreditation.

The expansion supports sectors including industry, health, food, environment, and trade by improving measurement reliability, product and service quality, and technical efficiency. Laboratories can access the programs through the e-services page on SASO’s website.
