RIYADH — Land, sea, and air customs ports across Saudi Arabia recorded 1,205 seizures of contraband last week. The seizures included 36 types of narcotics, such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, crystal meth and Captagon pills; 303 other prohibited substances; 879 tobacco and tobacco products; and 31 illegally transported currency.

The seizures were part of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority’s (ZATCA) ongoing work to strengthen security and protect society from prohibited items. ZATCA reaffirmed its commitment to strict customs control over Saudi Arabia's imports and exports to protect society, in continuous coordination with its partner agencies.

The authority urged the public to help combat smuggling and
protect society and the national economy by reporting suspicious activity through the dedicated security hotline, 1910, by email at [email protected], or via the international number, +9661910. Reports of smuggling and violations of the Unified Customs Law are handled in complete confidentiality, and a financial reward is offered for information that proves accurate.
