DUBAI — The Arabian Section of the international female pilots organization explores United Arab Emirates Skyline.



The second event of female pilots was held last week at Crowne Plaza in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. 



Around 40 female pilots and 20 members were in attendance. The participants who came from different countries, including Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Spain were Alia Twal, Nassreen Al-Hamadah, Vanessa Umba, Waad Al Doseri, Anwar Mubarak, Yvonne Truman, Ulrike Niedermier, Suha Aladas, Mavis AlUzaiz, Dima Alsaber, Nawel Belayachi, Hadeel Khamesh, Houda Matar,Adil Nahhas, Samar Oran, Elizabeth Peebles, Carol Rabadi, and Adelle Nahas.



After arriving in Dubai, the ladies were first taken to Jabel Ali to experience spectacular sightseeing of on a seaplane tour.



On board sea wings Cessna 208 Caravan, a nine seater sea plane, the ladies had an incredible 20-minute flight watching Palm Jumairah and Burj Al Arab among others from a bird-view. 



Their next plan was to witness the highly-anticipated yearly Dubai Airshow, but unfortunately their last show was canceled due to unpredictable weather conditions.



So the ladies went to one of Abu Dhabi's most thrilling and entertaining spot, Ferrari World.



The ride on the world's fastest roller coaster, The Thrill of Rosso, was simply exhilarating.



The female pilots were accorded a warm welcome at the Crown Plaza Yas, sponsored by DHL aviation Bahrain, where they discussed their aims and goals of having a solid financial base to be able to provide their section a scholarship and fund charities.



The next day, the ladies sailed the sea in a traditional dhow where they also treated themselves to sumptuous lunch.



The female pilots also took a helicopter tour with Falcon Aviation Services. On board the euro copter EC-13, flown by a female pilot, participants was able to get a bird's-view of the capitals extensive landmarks and heritage.



On their last day, the ladies thanked their sponsors DHL Avation Services, Crown Plaza Hotel, Falcon Aviation, Seawings, Ayla Flight Academy, Arabian Aerospace, gulf Air, Royal Jordanian Airlines and Zain Telecommunication Jordan.



They also extended help to the victims of the Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.



Everyone had a great and memorable experience, and truly the hard work in organizing such an event was a tremendous success.    



The next meeting of the Arabian Section would be held in Bahrain’s International Airshow on January 15. — SG
