JAZAN — A two-and-a-half-year-old girl lost a large chunk of her hand after she put it inside a meat grinder. The mother left the grinder on and went to collect some stuff from the fridge. Not knowing the grinder’s dangers, the girl put her hand inside. Frightened, the mother unplugged the machine in an attempt to pull her daughter’s hand out. However, a large part of the hand had gotten stuck inside. She called Civil Defense rescuers who advised the mother to take her daughter to King Fahd Hospital while her hand was still in the grinder. Doctors said the wrist and arm were fine but the hand was severely damaged.
