JEDDAH – The Ministry of Labor will soon provide an online service for getting domestic workers’ visas. The service will be available at the ministry’s website (www.mol.gov.sa) within a few months, Director General of the Jeddah Labor Office Abdulmunim Al-Shehri told Saudi Gazette on Monday.

Al-Shehri was speaking after inaugurating a new labor office at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) to serve excellent, first and second class clients. The new labor office, which serves some 6,000 companies, is one of seven the ministry has in the city.

According to Kalaf Al-Etaibi, a JCCI board member, a new center under the name “Tasheel” (simplifying procedures) is being opened to facilitate easier and faster transactions with the cooperation of different government agencies.

“We started with the Ministry of Labor, and will include soon the Passports Department and Saudi Post, other government bodies will follow, he said, adding: “These efforts are to serve over 70,000 traders and businessmen registered at the JCCI.”

Adnan Mandoura, JCCI secretary-general, said their efforts with government bodies have helped in solving more than 3,000 cases between the private and public sectors.
