ResizeCHICAGO — Patrick Kane has found red-hot chemistry with a pair of Russian linemates.
Kane had a goal and three assists, rookie Artemi Panarin scored twice in the first period and Corey Crawford made 34 saves to lead the Chicago Blackhawks past the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 Sunday night.
Artem Anisimov added a power-play goal with 5.1 seconds left. The Blackhawks ended a two-game slide and won for just the second time in six games.
Kane has clicked skating on right wing with Anisimov at center and Panarin on the left side. He extended his point streak to 10 games and has seven goals and 10 assists during the run — including the primary set-ups on his linemates’ three goals in this one.
“All three of us, the way we want to play is very similar,” Kane said. “I think we do a good job of supporting the puck, hanging on to the puck, trying to make plays.”
Kane’s latest outburst came three days after an upstate New York prosecutor decided not to bring rape charges against him because of a lack of credible evidence following a three-month investigation.
Bruins 2, Islanders 1: Goaltender Tuukka Rask made 36 saves as the Boston Bruins defeated the New York Islanders to snap a three-game losing streak.
Rask, who won the Vezina Trophy as the league’s best goaltender in 2014, entered the game with an .879 save percentage in nine appearances this season.
Patrice Bergeron and Ryan Spooner scored for the Bruins.
Islanders goaltender Jaroslav Halak stopped 25 shots.
Stars 4, Red Wings 1: Left-winger Patrick Sharp and center Tyler Seguin had a goal and an assist each to lead the Dallas Stars to a 4-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings.
Right-winger Valeri Nichushkin and center Cody Eakin also scored for Dallas, whose goaltender Kari Lehtonen made 21 saves.
Right-winger Gustav Nyquist scored for Detroit.
Detroit’s Jimmy Howard made 20 saves before leaving with 12:51 left in the third period after taking a knee to the head during a goal-mouth scramble. Howard was replaced by Petr Mrazek, who made two saves.
Devils 4, Canucks 3 (OT): Kyle Palmieri’s power-play goal with 1:27 left in overtime lifted the New Jersey Devils to 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
Left-wingers Adam Henrique, Mike Cammalleri and Sergey Kalinin scored for New Jersey in regulation while left-wingers Chris Higgins and Sven Baertschi and defenseman Alex Edler scored for Vancouver.
Goaltender Keith Kinkaid made 28 saves for the Devils, while goalie Ryan Miller stopped 24 for the Canucks, who lost their third successive game. — Agencies
