Fahad and Omar shine in Kanoo League

Aijaz Ahmed Khan JEDDAH — Al-Khulais and ECU line scored contrasting wins in the 6th week of the Kanoo Premier, which is sponsored by Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Company and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA). While Al-Khulais scored a narrow 7-run win over Hyderabad Green, ECU Lines thrashed Ittihad by 9 wickets. Al-Khulais beat Hyderabad Green by 7 runs. Al-Khulais put on 189 for the loss of 6 wickets. Arshad scored 42 off 20 balls (4 fours, 3 sixes), while Adil smashed a quick-fire 64 off 35 balls with 5 sixes and 4 fours. Aleem, Bilal and Saifullah picked up 2 wickets each for 32, 34 and 41, respectively. In reply, Hyderabad Green gave a solid reply thanks to Saifullah, who scored 50 off 30 balls and was given good support by Sheraz (26 off 11 balls — 5 fours), Safdar (22) and Wali (24). However, it fell short of the target by 7 runs as it was all out for 182. Ansar was the pick of bowlers with 3-33, while Adil and Munsif claimed 2 wickets each for 33 and 35, respectively. ECU Lines beat Ittihad by 9 wickets. Ittihad posted 205 for 6. Fahad slammed a superb 124 off only 39 balls with 13 sixes and 8 fours. He was given good support by Salim (26), Azam (22) and Nadeem (22). Abdul Rahman took 3-42 and Zain 2-10. In reply, ECU Lines made easy work of the daunting target as it reached 209 for 1. Omar led the way with a superb unbeaten knock of 123 off only 38 balls with 19 fours and 7 sixes. Javed hit 35 off 22 balls (5 fours, 1 six) and Izhar 26 off 12 balls (3 fours, 1 six).
