ResizeJEDDAH – People visiting the Civil Court complex in Jeddah have complained about the accumulation of dirty water in front of the complex and urged the National Water Company to remove the water immediately and take measures to avoid the leakage in the future.
Saeed Al-Harbi said the leaked water has inundated roads leading to the court. “We have been watching this accumulated water at the entrance of the civil court for the past six days,” he told Al-Madina Arabic daily. “People find it difficult to reach the court crossing the dirty water.”
Radhi Al-Ghamdi expressed his amazement over the delay in doing maintenance work on the pipeline after the leakage even after knowing that it took place in front of the court that is visited by a large number of people every day.
“The swamp created by the leaked water is emitting bad odor. It would become a breeding ground for disease-carrying mosquitoes,” he told Al-Madina.
Abdul Rahman Al-Ahmed said the delay in tackling the problem has increased the anguish of people who visit the court, especially women and the elderly. “The accumulation of water will damage the road,” he pointed out.
Al-Madina contacted Khaled Maqbool, corporate communications manager of the National Water Company, for his reaction to the problem.
He said the maintenance team would visit the site soon, but he was obviously uninformed of the problem. He asked the reporter to give the exact location and the latest situation in order to solve the problem immediately.
