RABIGH — The Kashmiri community in Rabigh, north of Jeddah, celebrated the 69th foundation day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in a befitting manner recently.

Senior member Kamran Baig presided over the gathering. Sardar Ashfaq, president of Muslim Conference Saudi Arabia chapter, was the chief guest.
A large number of community members, workers and supporters attended the function.

In his address, Ashfaq said for the success of the fight for Kashmir's freedom, "we should struggle keeping aside all contradictions and biases."

He condemned the brutal persecution carried by the Indian army in occupied Kashmir. "The fight for self-determination is the right of our Kashmiri brothers," he added.

Kamran Baig, in his presidential address, said the struggle will continue till the liberation of Indian-occupied Kashmir. He presented an 8-point resolution, which approved by the audience unanimously.

Raja Mohammed Zareen, Raja Mahboob, Waheed Khakhsar, Kaleem Khan, Sardar Aijaz, Amtiaz Chugtai, Maqbool Durrani, Sardar Mahmoud, Humayoun Khan and Zulfiqar Ahmed also addressed the function. They paid tributes to the martyrs and heroes of the Kashmir liberation struggle.

The program ended with special prayers for the integrity and prosperity of Pakistan and the quick liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, the function started with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Qur’an by Abdul Jalil Kiyani. A Naat was presented by Abdul Qadeer Kiyani, which was followed by the national anthem of Azad Jammu Kashmir.
Waheed Khakhsar conducted the ceremony.
