MADINAH — The Madinah mint became an attraction for people living in the western region of the Kingdom during the Eid season, Al-Madina reported.

Many visitors to Madinah coming from Jeddah, Makkah and Taif seek the various types of mint found in Madinah. The visitors buy the mint to give as a present to their families upon their return. The mint in Madinah comes in different types such as Al-Doush, Al-Magrabi, Al-Hasawi and Al-Atirah.

Visitors can buy mint from the market on Al-Hijrah Road. The market is a meeting point for many travelers and it is often crowded during Eid.

Mohammad Al-Shanab, a seller at the mint market, said mint is a very popular product in Madinah.

“Madinah is known for the various types of mint it has to offer. Customers vary in their preferences, some only like one type of mint and others like several types of mint. A batch can reach up to SR30 during Eid but the prices vary from SR20 to SR30 depending on the type of mint. Al-Namam and Al-Atirah are the cheapest ones as a batch can be sold for SR8.” said Al-Shanab.
