Recoveries outpace new infections; 12 more deaths reported

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia registered 2,532 new coronavirus cases and 2,562 recoveries, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and recoveries in the Kingdom to 65,077 and 36,040 respectively, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The ministry also said 12 more patients have died, taking the total number of virus-related deaths in the Kingdom to 351 so far.

Of the new cases, 714 were reported in Riyadh, 390 in Jeddah, 299 in Makkah, 193 in Madinah, 144 in Buraidah and 141 in Hufof.

Of the newly detected cases, 27 percent are female and 73 percent are male, health ministry spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali
said. The spokesman also said 39 percent of the new cases are Saudi nationals while 61 percent are of expatriates.


The spokesman called on citizens and residents to adhere to precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
