Domestic workers in Saudi Arabia drops by 400,000 in Q3 2021

RIYADH
— Saudi Arabia during the third quarter of 2021 witnessed a significant drop with the number of domestic workers by 400,000, according to to the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT)

The drivers number who is among domestic workers has decreased by 200,000, as it recorded about 1.75 million driver during the third quarter of 2021, compared the same period in 2020, when it recorded 1.94 million driver.

The authority’s data shows a drop in the domestic workers to 1.4 million in 2021, compared to the same period last year in 2020 when the data of domestic workers recorded 1.6 million.

The authority stated that the number of household managers rose from 2,101 to 2,488.

The GASTAT's indexes revealed a raise in the number of chefs and waitresses about 51,000 to 54,000. Compared with guards of the homes, buildings and the rest houses from 29,000 to 25,000.

The number of farmers who is working in houses declined from 2,536 to 2,238. As well as the tailors from 1,462 to 1,301.

Nurses who is working at the houses or which known as “In-home care or home healthcare” has also seen a decline from 2,958 nurse to 1,947.
