JEDDAH — The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission will launch Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Book Fair 2022 on Thursday until June 25, with the participation of more than 300 publishing houses.
The CEO of the Commission Dr. Muhammad Hassan Alwan said that the exhibition comes to enhance the status of Al-Madinah, which have been an intellectual beacon and a center for cultural exchange over the centuries. He explained that the exhibition would provide an integrated journey for readers in the heart of Madinah.
Alwan added that Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah is launching its cultural fest with the attendance of hundreds of local and Arab international publishing houses, and the participation of cultural and intellectual institutions and bodies, with the aim of increasing awareness, encouraging the spread of knowledge and books.
The Madinah Book Fair includes a rich cultural program span more than 80 activities, with the participation of elite speakers from inside and outside the Kingdom, where intellectuals, historians and writers participate in dialogue sessions, seminars, poetry nights and workshops, in addition to a theatrical show, and a variety of activities that last for 10 days.
It is noteworthy that the Madinah Book Fair constitutes a platform for publishing houses to display their products in all fields of knowledge, as it opens its doors daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., except on Friday from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m.
