Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The Report Center "1900" and Balagh Tijari app started on Sunday responding to e-commerce reports of stores authenticated in the Business Platform of the Saudi Business Center.

The stores that will be responded to are the ones that have an e-commerce certificate, and valid commercial records or valid freelance certificates, as well as commercial bank accounts linked to them.

This comes after the authentication process was transferred to the Business Platform from the Maroof platform. Authenticated e-stores in the Business Platform are obliged to maintain commercial bank accounts linked to the store itself, and not bank accounts in the name of individuals.

In order to prevent fraud, the Ministry of Commerce has warned shoppers against making any financial transfers to personal bank accounts.

The ministry said the authenticated stores on the Business Platform can be easily identified and accessed from the "Enquiring regarding an authenticated E-store" feature from the following link: https://eauthenticate.saudibusiness.gov.sa/inquiry. It has also pointed out that the authentication procedures are being completed electronically through: business.sa.

The Business Platform is the only approved platform to authenticate electronic commerce in the Kingdom.

To authenticate e-commerce, e-stores are required to obtain a valid commercial record or valid freelance certificate, in addition to a commercial bank account linked to the store.
