RIYADH — The Dallah Hospital has recently opened a new innovative clinic specializing in the treatment of speech, voice, and swallowing disorders, for both adults and children. Equipped with the latest diagnostic and treatment devices, the clinic is also supervised by several specialists and experts in the field.



Dr. Mufeed Mohammad Al-Jeady, speech and swallowing pathologist and an expert in the treatment of swallowing disorders by using Vital Stim Therapy Technology (First certified  Vital Stim Therapy instructor in Gulf area and Middle East) is supervising the clinic.  He said: "We have already started receiving many cases of people with speech and swallowing disorders. The clinic will also help those who have suffered from speech and swallowing disorders due to strokes, massive head trauma and different diseases and surgical issues for children and adults, inpatients and outpatients. Vital Stim Therapy technology will help those who require feeding tubes in order to get them back to eating normally.”



The clinic, he said, will help people with different speech disorders such as; stuttering, stammering, articulation disorders as omission of sounds, substitution,etc, voice problems such as loss of voice, vocal cord paralysis, dysphonia, hoarseness of voice…etc, delayed speech and language in children, dysarthria, nasal speech disorder resulting from cleft lip and palate, and many more.



"It is for this reason that the clinic is fully equipped with the latest equipment for diagnosis and treatment of the aforementioned diseases and disorders."



Speech and communication disorders take form in children as delayed speech and language or articulation disorders which is carried on into adulthood and hindering a person’s ability to pronounce or speak or even communicate. Speech and language disorder could be due to a number of causes such as stroke, severe head trauma. It is also evident in many people with autism or Down syndrome and others.
